PANIC! That's what the media would like us to do! But should we? Oh, should we be careful... yes. Should we wash our hands more and stay away from sick people...sure. But panic? NO! Not if we are true people of faith!
This is the verse that snake handlers use to justify messing around with a 4 foot viper - and calling it church! But that is not what the verse is talking about at all.
Have you ever noticed the progression of the verse? Touch, Taste and Touch again.
People who are living a spirit filled, faith packed, on fire walk with God will....
-Not only not get hurt by what they touch, not get hurt by what they drink, but lay hands on those that ARE sick - and they will get well!!
What if our prayer today went like this.
"Father, I believe your word in Mark when it talks about us living under your protection. I plead the blood of Jesus over my family and our church. Holy Spirit, I pray that you would give me a supernatural flu shot, and not only that - but Lord I pray that anyone I touch that is carrying the virus - not only would I not get it, but that your healing power would flow through me - and heal those who do have it. That Your name would be glorified in all the earth. Amen"
What if.... we prayed that prayer and replaced panic with faith?
In 2nd Timothy it says: For
God
hath
not
given
us
the spirit
of fear;
but
of power,
and
of love,
and
of a sound mind.
Be practical, and do not be foolish - but put your hope in the Lord today, and He will give you peace, power and love.
