Have you ever seen a sign or heard someone say something that is so obvious? Do you wonder why every time you get a drink that is steaming the cup reads "Caution... Hot". I see and hear these things all the time and wonder why someone would waste their time and money printing these obvious things?

Philippians 3:13-14 "Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus."
Sometimes the things that hinder us from moving forward in our journey aren't always bad things. It is possible to become hostage to our past by trying to relive something that has come and gone. This can take the form of trying to relive past achievements, relationships, or defining moments in our lives.

"Here in Your presence, all things are new; Here in Your presence, everything bows before You..."
These words come from the chorus of a worship song we've sung many times at C52. Recently, we were singing this and the words hit me a little different than usual. Yes, bowing is a form of worship and we understand that, but EVERYTHING bows before Him. Yes, the Bible talks about how even the rocks will cry out if we don't praise Him. Even beyond His creation bowing before Him... EVERYTHING bows before Him.

"Forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before."
Philippians 3:13
Now, 'forget it' doesn't mean losing awareness of the event. That's amnesia! It means releasing the pain from the memory like you'd remove the poison from a snakebite. Allow all those unsettled and unsettling issues that keep holding you in the night and affecting you in the light to be broken by the power of God! If you are the injured party, forgive those who hurt you. If you did the hurting, forgive yourself - for God does.
