Scratch one thing off my list of things I need to do before I die. This past Saturday, I got to go to a Notre Dame Football game in South Bend. Our tickets were right on the field in the end zone and it was amazing! I was given the tickets and told that I needed to get the "full experience" if I was a true fan. I was given a detailed map and had all the times filled in on where to be before the game.
We arrived 3 hours before the game and walked around seeing the campus and eating. I was told that I HAD to eat a steak sandwich from the Knights of Columbus tent. I was told that the sandwich was not the best but I had to buy one because that's what you do when you attend the game. The line was so long I would have missed the game if I waited! After that we ran from building to building to be a part of each pregame event. We finally made it to the football game and we were exhausted before the game. We cheered our brains out and still lost the game. It was awesome!
I was driving home after the game and thinking about how I went through the motions to get the "full experience". How many times do we go to church just going through the motions? How many times have I showed up at "game time" with no pregame activities? If we want the "full experience" you have to pray before church, prepare your heart all week and then game time! I know that all the pregame activities we did before the football game made the actual game amazing and the same principle applies this week at church. See ya at warfare prayer on Sunday morning!
