Pastoral Staff Blogs - Pastor Carlos' Blog
Written by Carlos Inocencio

Have you ever found yourself questioning God or even your salvation for the lack of a sense of divine direction?  You know what I mean, have you ever thought "God, why don't You answer my prayers?  Why don't You show me what it is that You want for me? Is it because of my secret sin?  Is it because I don't read your Word or spend enough time with You?  Did the last mistake I made infinitely remove your purpose for my life?

If you have ever felt these feelings or anything similar, let me tell you, you are NOT alone.  Many people find themselves questioning God for all of their unfulfilled desires and needs.  Whether they be financial, emotional or physical, we wonder why God has not answered us.  We wonder if our past or present failures have withheld God's blessings and favor in our lives.  We question our motives and hearts.  Sometimes we wonder if we missed His call.  We just plain old over-think everything.

What's funny is in our small limited understanding we try to comprehend a God who is incomprehensible, Isaiah 55:8-9 "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,".  We try to grasp a timing that is beyond what we could fathom and we limit ourselves to a self-fulfillment, which He desperately desires to surpass. Jeremiah 29:11, "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."  We tend to over think every in and out, every sign and every word, to only find ourselves over thinking the over thought!

Today you need to know there is nothing in your past that He can't forgive or heal. There is no need He cannot meet. There is no situation He will not guide you out of. He knows every petition, desire and need you have. He assures us of this, "So don't worry about these things, saying, 'What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?' These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.'' Matthew 6:31-33

Instead of over thinking our life situations, we need to meditate on God and continue to seek Him wholeheartedly. We need to trust that He is working on our behalf and trust Jeremiah 29:11. Put your mind at ease today, STOP OVER THINKING, and know that the Lord God almighty intercedes on your behalf at this very moment (Romans 8:34). Let Him do the dirty work and rest at ease knowing your Savior lives and your answer is on the way!

Thank you Carlos, all the way from Fort Worth, TX. I felt very personally touched by your thought. I don't know but I was precisely struggling with that situation this week and I have the confirmation that I needed. Some times we just need to " Be still and know that I am God" Psalms 46:10
Instead of questioning Him or let our soul be invaded by fear and doubts we should wait on Him and trust Him with all our heart and mind in our tribulations, assured that He cares for us in ways we can't even imagine. Sometimes that's all we need to do!! God bless you!!

Praise God! I am glad to know that you were able to take something away from what the Lord placed in my heart.

Blessings,
Pastor Carlos

You are so right, Carlos. I don't know how many times I've thought something to death by replaying it over and over and over. Many times, if late in the evening, it has worn me out so much that I would just go to bed and decide to deal with it tomorrow. Of course, this only works if you don't have a problem falling asleep right away - which I don't. I'm learning each day to remember to just turn whatever it is over to God first instead of hitting replay. I let God have the worry, the fear, the anger, the burden, and I wait on him. Good word, Carlos!

I like what Alexy M. said above, "sometimes we just need to "be still and know that I am God" Psalm 46:10." I will continue to pray for peace in your situation and mostly in your mind and heart!

Blessings,
Pastor Carlos

Romans 12:1c in the Message version reads, "Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for Him." That's it. As has been said...we just need to commit our way to God and trust HIM to work it all out. Thanks Pastor Carlos!
Carlos Inocencio  - Amen!   |07-11-2011 17:39:27
You're right Pastor Brian! He will certainly work it out!

Blessings,
Pastor Carlos
